My Personal Mission

Lately I can honestly say I've been on a mission. A mission to find a job, to write well and to be a gleaming example of professionalism. I think I am succeeding in those things.
With all the energy focused on my professional mission it's been challenging to maintain my personal one. The one that by most accounts really matters. I've never had those long meaningful conversations with Grandma about what to do to be a good person. I guess she was too busy actually doing them. It was clear by her actions and by the actions of other people of value what I needed to do. Some of the personal missions I've witnessed were to serve God, to be a strong foundation for the family, to never give up. For me, I think it's all of the above plus a few other things. To be a better daughter, sister, niece, girlfriend, cousin and friend. To live my life in such a way that wherever I go and whoever I meet is better off for the having. To not leave a trail of destruction on the Earth and to not be "that girl". You know, the one who everyone smiles at but breathes a sigh of relief when she's gone. I think it's important to have a and nurture my personal mission. What's yours?
